What does each section of a report mean?

Each check in a report is one section. Which sections appear depends on the subject and the report type; this is the full list, by the name the report uses.

Data qualityA warning that web research was unavailable during the run, so a clean result may be incomplete. Shown only when it happened.
Vessel identityThe ship's identity from the lists by IMO number, and whether the number confirmed the hull.
AddressesRegistered and operating addresses.
RegistrationThe register record: registration number, legal form, status and incorporation date.
Identifier qualityHow complete the company's identifiers are: LEI, registration number, address and incorporation date.
Operating profileWhat the company does: when it was founded, its size, industry and markets.
Key personnelDirectors and senior officers.
Beneficial ownersThe people and companies named as owning or controlling the company.
Beneficial ownership and controlWho ultimately owns or controls the company under the AML/CTF Act tests, and anything that could not be traced.
Ownership complexityHow layered or opaque the ownership is: corporate owners, several jurisdictions, undisclosed stakes.
Director historyDirector disqualifications and past appointments. Not currently included in reports.
SanctionsWhether the subject is on a sanctions list.
Vessel sanctionsWhether the ship itself is designated.
Owners and managersThe ship's owners, managers and operators, each screened.
Restricted partiesExport-control, debarment and other restricted-party lists.
Beneficial owner screeningEach owner the register discloses, screened against sanctions and PEP data.
Politically exposed personsProminent public positions held by the subject or its key people.
Country riskThe risk of the countries the subject is registered or operates in.
Flag riskHow the ship's flag state performs in port-state inspections.
Regulatory actionsEnforcement actions, fines and warnings by regulators.
Port state controlPort bans and detentions of the ship.
Key personnel and beneficiary screeningDirectors and owners found in research, each screened, with sanctioned owners' stakes added together under the 50% rule.
Licence denialsRefused, suspended or cancelled licences and registrations.
Court casesLitigation and criminal proceedings.
InsolvencyAdministration, liquidation, receivership or bankruptcy.
Maritime risk indicatorsSigns of sanctions evasion that a named source reports: repeated renaming or reflagging, shadow-fleet listings, dark activity, ship-to-ship transfers.
Adverse mediaNegative news from reputable media.

FinancialsFinancial statements, for a listed company whose filings are public; otherwise not included.
