What does an Advanced report add?
Advanced adds research. A first pass confirms who the subject is and finds its directors, owners and background in public sources. Directors and owners found this way are screened in their own right, and a company owner holding 25% or more is traced to its own owners. Separate research areas are then investigated one by one, each with its own cited sources, and the findings are brought together into one assessment.
The research areas are:
- Sanctions and restricted parties - designations, export controls, debarments, in official lists and public records.
- Politically exposed persons - prominent public positions held by the subject or its key people.
- Regulatory actions - enforcement, fines and warnings by regulators, including country-specific government sources.
- Litigation - court cases and criminal proceedings.
- Adverse media - negative news from reputable media.
- Country risk - the risk of the countries the subject is registered or operates in.
- Modern slavery - modern slavery statements and forced-labour findings (organisations only).
An individual is researched across six areas, without modern slavery. A company in a low-risk country with no sign of political exposure may skip the politically exposed persons area; sanctions and restricted parties, adverse media and country risk always run.
For a ship, Advanced researches adverse media and maritime risk instead, and screens the owner, manager and operator that public sources name.
